Carol Burnett reunites with “Carol Burnett Show” costar Dick Van Dyke at her Hollywood handprint ceremony

The comedy legend preserved her hand and footprints in cement at the TCL Chinese Theatre.

Carol Burnett reunited with her former The Carol Burnett Show costar Dick Van Dyke on Thursday, as the comedy icon left her hand and footprints in cement at Hollywood's TCL Chinese Theatre alongside the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Sidney Poitier, and Van Dyke's Mary Poppins costar Julie Andrews.

Burnett's beloved The Carol Burnett Show, which aired from 1967 to 1978, featured Van Dyke on 11 episodes in 1977. He, by the way, had his own prints captured in a May 1966 event.

Van Dyke, 98, was one of the many celebrities in attendance to toast the 91-year-old. Laura Dern, Bob Odenkirk, and Jimmy Kimmel also took the mic during the ceremony, as celebrities including Bill Hader, Allison Janney, Jane Lynch, Maya Rudolph, Mindy Cohn, and Lisa Ann Walter sat in the audience.

"I can't begin to count the times that my grandmother and I would walk up here to the Grauman's Chinese — that's what it was called then — and look at all the footprints and handprints of all these great movie stars," Burnett said, in video captured by the AP. "Betty Grable was one of my favorites, and I remember bending down and putting my hands on her handprints, never dreaming that someday I'd be putting my hands here... 80 years later."

Of course, the funny lady made a joke, feigning that her hands were stuck in the cement.

Even decades after she first made her mark in showbiz, Burnett continues to work on big projects, including a guest-starring role on the final season of Better Call Saul. Her latest is the new Apple TV+ series Palm Royale, which has an all-star cast that also includes Dern, Janney, Kristen Wiig, Ricky Martin, Josh Lucas, Leslie Bibb, Mindy Cohn, Julia Duffy, Amber Chardae Robinson, and Kaia Gerber.

Over the course of her career, Burnett's many honors include numerous Emmys and Golden Globe Awards. She's been the recipient of prestigious accolades such as a Kennedy Center Honor, the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, and a Presidential Medal of Freedom, which was given to her by President George W. Bush in 2005.
