Carol Kirkwood 'bursting with happiness' following wedding to Steve Randall

Weather presenter Carol Kirkwood is "bursting with happiness" following her wedding to Steve Randall.

The Scottish TV meteorologist revealed on BBC Breakfast on Friday that she tied the knot with her partner in an intimate ceremony in Buckinghamshire on Wednesday.

She later shared professional snaps from the "day we will never forget" on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Thank you so much for all your lovely messages. We had the most perfect day. It was a tiny wedding but so romantic and intimate. A day we will never forget. We are bursting with happiness. It wasn't a 'secret' wedding, just a private one," she wrote in the caption.

BBC Breakfast presenter Sally Nugent congratulated Carol, 61, on her happy news. She shared a wedding photo on X and added, "Congratulations Carol and Steve. Thrilled to share this beautiful picture of the happy couple."

Former BBC Breakfast co-host Dan Walker followed suit and wrote, "Congratulations to Carol and Steve. Steve is one very fortunate gentlemen and Carol is the best of us all. She is kind, caring, brilliant at her job and a wonderful person to be around. I wish them every happiness in their new life together @carolkirkwood."

Carol also received supportive messages in the replies from fellow TV personalities such as Carol Vorderman and Rylan Clark.

"Huge congratulations....you are beautiful inside and out. Wishing you both every happiness as ever," the former Countdown star gushed, while Rylan commented, "Congrats to you both Carol."

Carol announced her engagement to Steve live on BBC Breakfast from the Chelsea Flower Show in May 2022.

She was previously married to Jimmy Kirkwood until 2008.
