Carol Vorderman has accused several Conservative Party MPs of "pretending to be Green" in their latest political campaign.

The 62-year-old I'm A Celebrity... South Africa contestant has used her social media platform to call out Tory politicians for "rebranding" and hiding their links to the Conservative party.

Vorderman retweeted an image of a set of Conservative flyers - including one for Chancellor of the Exchequer Jeremy Hunt - printed in green with no mention of the political party they stand for.

She said: "Before I go off to work BEWARE BLUES PRETENDING TO BE GREENS Some current leaflets for Tories below Keep calling them out .... #ToriesDeletingTory "

The former Countdown star also exchanged insults with Deputy Chairman Lee Anderson after naming him among a list of Tory politicians - including former Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Liz Truss - who have removed their links to the Conservative Party from their Twitter bios.

Vorderman tweeted: "So it goes on Lee Anderson, Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party who doesn’t tell us which party he is the “deputy chairman” of? I suspect a rebranding and change from Tory blue this year."

Anderson added in the text "now the proud Conservative Member of Parliament for" to his Twitter profile and hit back at the TV star, replying: "Think you need to check my bio again. Oh and whilst your at it act your age."

Vorderman retorted: "I know I shouldn't BUT @LeeAndersonMP_ it's "you're" not "your" Also, quick question on the age/behaviour issue (which you brought up) At what age should a Member of Parliament stop asking his mate to lie for him on camera? You being an expert..."

The Celebrity Gogglebox star also tweeted: "At the moment it's running at over 70% of Tory MPs who were voted in as Tories, and are paid as Tory MPs, are not saying they are Tory on their social media profile. What's more....many are also using the colour green on election leaflets!!"
