Caroline Aherne To Return To Gogglebox Following Cancer Battle

Caroline Aherne’s distinctive voice is one of the defining factors of Channel 4 series ‘Gogglebox’, and when she was forced to pull out due to illness her narration was sorely missed.

However, it has now been confirmed that Caroline will be taking over narrating duties yet again as she prepares to rejoin the new series of the show when they start filming in February.

Yay!

The actress is famous for her roles in The Royle Family and Mrs. Merton and first revealed that she was battling cancer in 2014 at the launch of the Macmillian Cancer Improvement Partnership.

At the time, she bravely explained: “When you hear the doctors say you have cancer, it’s true you really don’t take it in properly.

“You just don’t think of the questions.”

Both Caroline and her brother were born with retina cancer, with Caroline also suffering with cancer in her bladder.

Most recently, Caroline was treated for a tumour in her lung, but her brother confirmed to The Mirror that she was feeling much better, sharing: “She is absolutely fine and starts work on Gogglebox next month.”

When Caroline was too ill to record her voiceovers she was replaced by her writing partner Craig Crash.
