For anybody who's missing that long, hot summer we enjoyed this year, the upcoming Love Island Christmas special is sure to transport you right back to sunnier days full of grafting and cracking on.

And now, Love Island host Caroline Flack has promised that the festive reunion, which will see this year's Islanders getting back together for one night only, won't be totally full of Christmas good cheer.

After all, quite a few of those happy couples have now been through very public break-ups...

"We’ve reunited all the islanders and put them in a lovely country manor," Caroline said while making an appearance on Sunday Brunch. "It’s catching up where they left off. Some of them are still together, some have broken up. There are quite a few rows!"

But what about this year's much-loved winners Jack Fincham and Dani Dyer, who captured our hearts from the very first week of the show?

The couple devastated their fans when they announced they'd split at the beginning of December, but Caroline says that the pair are actually now back together.

"When I last saw them they were fine and they'd just got a little puppy," she said. "Then they broke up but they’re back together now.

"I don’t think they’d be together just for a TV show," she added, referencing the couple's upcoming reality show. "They seem in love. They come out of the villa and there’s so much media attention, they're just young kids."

The presenter is also taking part in a reality show herself this festive season, as she's returning to Strictly Come Dancing for its 2018 Christmas special after her victory on the 2014 series.

Caroline revealed that she'll be dancing a Charleston with her professional partner Gorka Márquez during the festive special, but the glamour will be dialled down as she's dancing dressed as Pinocchio for the panto-themed show.

Caroline certainly hasn't been relaxing in the lead-up to Christmas, as she's also taken on the lead role of Roxie Hart in West End musical Chicago with just a few days of rehearsals to get ready.

"This part is the reason I went to stage school, I always wanted to be Roxy," she said.

"I only had eight days to learn the part and they only gave me 10 minutes to make the decision. I ummed and ahhed but then I decided to go for it.

"I was nervous but I quite like nerves and I work well under pressure. That’s probably why I like live telly. I don’t think of it as nerves, it’s excitement."

The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special will air on Christmas Day on BBC One. Caroline Flack stars in Chicago until the end of its London West End run on January 5, 2019.
