Cars Backed Up '12+ Miles' as Winter Storm Hits Utah

The Utah County Sheriff’s Office said traffic was backed up “12+ miles” at Spanish Fork Canyon on Sunday, January 1, as a winter storm swept through.

Footage here shows US Highway 6 near Thistle Junction, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office. “In 32 years this is 2nd worst I’ve seen traffic in the canyon,” the tweet said.

The Department of Transportation said: “Wintry road conditions are expected across much of the state through Monday morning, including continued snow in the Salt Lake Valley.”
