Cars Remain Submerged Following UAE Flooding

Streets in Sharjah remained flooded on April 18 after the heaviest rain in decades hit the UAE.

Footage here shows submerged cars on a flooded road in the city.

Authorities in the United Arab Emirates issued a stay-at-home advisory on Tuesday, April 16.

The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) stressed “the necessity of staying at home and following safety instructions during the weather conditions."

On April 17, government officials called on companies to allow “flexible work patterns in light of the weather fluctuations.”
