The castle with 50 life-size dinosaurs in 'Land of Giants' on Coventry's doorstep

Maxstoke Castle near Coleshill in North Warwickshire will host the special attraction

Dinosaur-loving kids (and adults) will be able to feast their eyes on a brand new spectacle on Coventry's doorstep. In its new 'Land of Giants' attraction, Maxstoke Castle will play home to 50 life-size animatronic dinosaurs and Ice Age creatures with moving parts and sounds.

It is touring the country, reports BirminghamLive, and will be calling into the castle grounds near Coleshill. it is usually only open to the public once a year but the castle is opening its grounds ahead of May half term to welcome the attraction.

"The Land of Giants is a phenomenal day out for the entire family," said Naz Kabir, marketing and event director. "We can’t wait to open our doors and bring together dinosaurs and ice age creatures for the first time, here in the UK.

"We know that keeping little ones entertained during the holidays can be hard work and incredibly expensive; at The Land of Giants, we have worked hard to bring visitors a fun-filled, educational day out at a price that’s accessible to all."

During the 90-minute experience, visitors can explore the park trails, gardens, and parklands, and uncover the epic beasts lurking amongst the trees and bushes, as well as being able to embody their inner palaeontologist and dig for fossils. Look out for a ferocious T-Rex, roaring woolly mammoths, an eight-metre Triceratops and a 16-metre tall Diplodocus."

When you can see the 'Land of Giants' at Maxstoke Castle

The touring attraction will be at the 14th century fortified manor house with a moat from May 18 to June 2. This means that you can pop along in the May half term break from school.

After leaving the local castle, it will be heading to Glasgow and then onto Sheffield. Tickets prices start from £14.50 per adult. and £12.50 per child.

Note that the castle won't be open to the public to walk around inside. The Land of the Giants event will be taking place across the castle grounds outside in the park areas.
