The soap is set to welcome Jamie Glover and Manpreet Bachu to the emergency department this spring, according to The Sun. Digital Spy has reached out to the BBC for confirmation.
Known for his roles as Andrew Treneman in Waterloo Road and more recently Princess Diana's private secretary Patrick Jephson in season five of Netflix's The Crown, Glover will be playing Clinical Lead Patrick Onley. Onley is a trauma surgeon turned ED consultant.
The actor has previously appeared in the soap's sister series Holby City over the past few decades in a variety of guest roles, most recently in 2012.
Speaking about his casting, Glover called the series a "national treasure".
"I cannot tell you how thrilled I am to be working with such a dedicated, skilful group of people who care so passionately about the minutiae of each episode as well as the show’s wider impact," he shared.
"Casualty is quite rightly considered a national treasure. And it is a privilege to board the bus for a part of its journey."
Meanwhile, Killing Eve's Manpreet Bachu will also be heading to the emergency department alongside actress and comedian Sammy T Dobson.
The pair have been cast as junior doctors Tariq Hussein and Nicole Piper, with Tariq being the cousin of established character, resident doctor Rash Masum (Neet Mohan).
Bachu is best known for his role as Elliot in season four of Killing Eve, and has also appeared in DI Ray and The Royals.
Dobson appeared to tease the big news on Instagram Stories, sharing a photo of herself in what looked like scrubs alongside the caption: "I have exciting news I can finally share tomorrow.
"I think this is the longest secret I've ever kept apart from the one about my tail. Ah f**k."
The three actors will make their on-screen debut in February and March.
Casualty airs on Saturdays on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
