Casualty has confirmed that Alicia Munroe will be leaving the show this weekend.

Chelsea Halfpenny's final scenes will air in Saturday night's episode (January 19) when Alicia makes the decision to leave Holby for pastures new.

After discovering that she's been offered a place on a coveted paediatric fellowship in Manchester, Alicia is initially unsure over whether she can leave her colleagues at the ED – and in particular, her boyfriend Ethan.

To make matters even more complicated, Alicia discovers that Ethan is planning to propose in the build-up to her departure – leaving her even more conflicted over her future.

As Alicia wrestles with what to do, she ultimately decides to put her career before her personal life and says her goodbyes.

Chelsea joined Casualty for a brief stint in 2015, returning as a full-time regular in 2016. Prior to that, she was known for playing Amy Wyatt in Emmerdale.

Casualty will air Alicia's final scenes on Saturday, January 19 on BBC One.
