Catherine Tate’s Nan is back in a trailer for her own movie.

The cantankerous character – who made her debut on The Catherine Tate Show before getting her own spin-offs – is the star of The Nan Movie.

The film, which is out in March, is an origins tale that mixes Nan’s present with her past and will show viewers how she became who she is today.

It sees Nan going on a wild road trip from London to Ireland with her grandson Jamie (Mathew Horne) to make amends with her estranged sister Nell (Katherine Parkinson).

At first Nan isn’t keen, asking Jamie when he offers to take her: “What do I want to go and see her for?”

“Because she’s dying,” he replies, before Nan snarls: “Good!”

However, the pair end up on the road, with Nan rapping as she sets off: “My name is Nan, from London town, you got a problem, I’ll take you down.”

The pair then encounter militant vegan arsonists, raucous rugby teams, all night raves and crazed cops on motorbikes on their travels.
