New Cavendish House store opened by Red Dwarf star

A new store has opened in the former House of Fraser store in the heart of Cheltenham. The Duracell Energy store, in Cavendish House in Promenade, celebrated its official launch week with Red Dwarf actor and electric expert Robert Llewellyn.

The store, brought to the heart of Cheltenham by Puredrive Energy, is an information hub designed to guide homeowners on their journey towards zero energy costs through the Duracell Energy Home EcoSystem.

Duracell Energy's product range, which includes home batteries, aims to help homeowners cut their energy bills and carbon footprint. All manufacturing, R&D and customer services teams are UK-based, operating from the Head Office just outside of Cheltenham.

The launch of the Cavendish House hub coincided with the Cheltenham Science Festival, the UK's largest gathering of science experts. As a new partner of this year's festival, Duracell Energy welcomed members of the public to its creative maker-lab space, offering a variety of hands-on STEM activities such as battery circuits and solar-powered mini house building kits.

The official opening of the Cavendish House store was presided over by writer, broadcaster, and actor Robert Llewellyn, who is also the founder and CEO of the highly successful YouTube channel, podcast, website, and live event show, Full Charged.

Fully Charged, which launched in 2010, has garnered over 1 million subscribers on YouTube and covers all aspects of electric living, from making homes more efficient to reviewing the latest electric vehicles.

Duracell Energy's range of home energy solutions aims to reduce homeowners' energy costs by integrating with smart tariffs to charge home energy storage batteries at the lowest prices, typically overnight for use throughout the day. This shifts energy usage to times when there is less demand on the grid, resulting in cheaper energy and reducing stress and reliance on the grid during peak times.

The average home uses approximately 10kWh per day, and these battery systems can be paired with solar panels to create a fully independent energy source through a solar inverter. This then converts the power captured by the sun to power the home.

Duracell, have given Puredrive Energy the licence to sell their suite of Home EcoSystem solutions, attributed to the quality of Puredrive's existing product offering. The Duracell Energy products are set to boast new modifications such as smaller and lighter design, easing homeowners' usage. Furthermore, the cost-efficiency of these products is expected to increase given the VAT repeal on home batteries.

Commenting on this development, Mark Millar, CEO of Puredrive Energy stated: "After the successful launch of the first ever Duracell Energy store at Cavendish House we're looking forward to welcoming homeowners to explore the innovative Home EcoSystem solutions we offer."

"Our goal is to empower individuals to take control of their energy consumption, reduce their bills, and contribute to a more sustainable future. Our new store marks a major step toward broadening accessibility to high-tech home battery technology for residents of Cheltenham. We invite local people to visit us, understand the benefits of Duracell Energy products, and personally experience its potential towards positively affecting wallets and environment."
