CCTV appeal after Hublot watch worth £10k snatched from man's wrist

A thief snatched a man's Hublot watch said to be worth more than £10,000 from his wrist in Manchester city centre.

Police have launched an investigation and today issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak with in connection with the theft. It happened on Bootle Street in the early hours.

In a statement accompanying the CCTV image, GMP said: "Officers want to talk to this man following the theft of a man's watch on Bootle Street in Manchester city centre at around 1.15am on Sunday, June 16.

"The victim reports he was approached by two males, one male took hold of his wrist and stole his Hublot watch worth £10,500. The male then pushed the victim to the ground causing injury.

"Since the incident police have conducted several lines of enquiries and analysed CCTV footage of the incident. No arrests have been made at this stage.

PC Lukman Intwala, from GMP's city centre division, said: "We are working hard to find those responsible and have a dedicated team committed to this investigation. We are appealing to members of the public to assist us in identifying a male in the image as we want to speak to him in connection to the incident.

"We are actively pursuing all available lines of enquiry and hopefully there will be quick progress in this investigation to keep everyone safe.
