CCTV Released Of Moment Man's Jaw Was Broken

Video showing the moment a man had his jaw broken after he was punched leaving a pizza takeaway has been released as police attempt to trace his attacker.

The CCTV footage shows the 23-year-old leaving a fast food outlet in Bristol Road, Selly Oak, Birmingham.

The victim is followed out of the shop and floored with a single upper-cut punch to the jaw which leaves him unconscious.

The unprovoked attack happened on February 25 last year, and the man was left needing surgery.

West Midlands Police have released the video and stills in the hope of bringing the attacker to justice.

Detective Constable Louise Corcoran said: "This was a serious unprovoked assault.

"It's had a lasting effect on the victim, who has been left physically and emotionally scarred."
