Celebrating Guinness World Records Day 2020

A roller skater from London who goes by the name Tinuke Orbit managed to achieve her goal of two brand new Guinness World Records title: Most cartwheels on roller skates in one minute, with 30, and Most spins on e-skates in one minute, with 70. Orbit said practicing and pushing herself for these world records was what helped her "get through this year".

Three records were broken in the U.S. by basketball team the Harlem Globetrotters. Rochelle "Wham" Middleton managed to score a basket behind his back from a distance of 13.86m (45gt 6in). Deandre "Dragon" Taylor threw a spinning basketball to a height of 6.12m (20ft 1in) and caught it. Lucius "Too Tall" Winston bounced a ball in a figure of eight 62 times in one minute, both of which won them Guinness World Records. All three athletes were presented with certificates recognising their achievements and branded "officially amazing" by a GWR officiate.

Elsewhere, 105-year-old Yu Te-Hsin became the oldest person to paraglide tandem. Editor-in-chief of Guinness World Records, Craig Glenday, said this "awe-inspiring record" proves "age is never a barrier to achieving your goals."
