Celebrity Big Brother winner Jack Dee: 2001
Comedian Jack Dee won the first ever Celebrity Big Brother in 2001. Posing with fellow celebrity contestants Keith Duffy, Anthea Turner and Claire Sweeney Dee was beloved by audiences for his ‘couldn’t care less’ attitude. Seemingly unimpressed by the entire affair, Dee even left the CBB house at one point and threatened to quit several times.

Since Jack Dee’s unforgotteable first ever Celebrity Big Brother winning performance he’s continued as a successful stand-up comedian. He’s also co-written and starred in the ITV series ‘Bad Move’ which is due to return for its second series this year.

Mark Owen, Celebrity Big Brother winner: 2002
Take That band-member Mark Owen won the 2nd ever Celebrity Big Brother in 2002. In its junior years CBB still attracted major celebrities, and Mark Owen beat fellow contestants Anne Diamond, Goldie, Les Dennis, Melinda Messenger and Sue Perkins. Owen won 77% of the public vote against runner-up Dennis, and broke down in tears upon leaving the CBB house.

Mark Owen has gone on to achieve a huge career revival thanks to several incredibly popular Take That reunion tours. He’s also enjoyed success with several solo albums and new Take That albums.

Mark ‘Bez’ Berry, Celebrity Big Brother winner: 2005
Happy Mondays bandmate ‘Bez’ Berry was stunned when he won 2005’s series three of Celebrity Big Brother. Berry was formally bankrupt under his real name of Mark Berry at the time, and claimed he only entered CBB to pay off his outstanding tax bill. He won 54% of the popular vote, beating runner-ups Brigitte Nielson and Kenzie.

Berry’s finance woes didn’t get much better post CBB, as he spent most of his winnings on sprucing up his black cab and declared bankruptcy again in 2010. He popped up recently in the press for co-starring in a special celebrity episode of Bargain Hunt alongside Jarvis Cocker for BBC Music Day.

Chantelle Houghton, Celebrity Big Brother winner: 2006
Chantelle Houghton entered the Celebrity Big Brother house in 2006 CBB fourth series as an ‘imposter.’ Posing as a member of fictitious girlband ‘Kandy Floss’ she went on to win the series – beating out ‘real’ celebrities such as Michael Barrymore, Dennis Rodman, George Galloway and Pete Burns.

Chantelle Houghton: Her life today
Chantelle’s future post-CBB has been intwined with the show. After CBB Chantelle Houghton went on to marry her fellow contestant Samuel Preston in 2006, only to divorce a year later. She then went on to have a relationship with another CBB winner – Alex Reid in 2011 – Katie Price’s ex (who is yet another CBB winner). The couple had a daughter Dolly together but their relationship lasted just over a year, having split in 2012. Houhgton also competed in 2010’s ‘Ultimate Big Brother’ – for which she finished third place.

Shilpa Shetty, Celebrity Big Brother winner: 2007
Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty won Celebrity Big Brother series five in 2007. Shetty was the victim of racist bullying from fellow contestants Jade Goody, Danielle Lloyd and Jo O’Meara. The issue reached international headlines and Ofcom ruled that Channel 4 had breached the Broadcasting Code. Shetty won with 63% of the public vote, beating Jermaine Jackson to first place.

Shilpa Shetty doesn’t appear to have starred in any Bollywood movies post 2007. Since 2016 she has co-judged a dance reality competition ‘Super Dancer’ on Sony Entertainment Channel. She also released a yoga fitness dvd in 2015. Married to Raj Kundra in 2009, they welcomed a son in 2012.

Ulrika Jonsson, Celebrity Big Brother winner: 2009
Swedish TV Presenter Ulrika Jonsson won CBB’s season six in 2009. Famed for her affair with then England football team manager Sven-Goaran Eriksson as well as various UK presenting gigs (Gladiators, Shooting Stars) she won Celebrity Big Brother with 57% of the public vote. Surviving the public vote 5 times, she seemed amazed at being crowned the winner. “It is singularly the weirdest experience of my entire life and I’ve had quite a weird life!” Jonsson said.

Ulrika Jonsson seems to have kept a very low profile in recent years and is rarely seen out and about on the celebrity social scene. Living in Berkshire with her advertising exec husband Brian Monet and her four children, she seems to have swapped fame for a quiet country life. She was last scene on telly in 2017 when she competed in Celebrity MasterChef.

Celebrity Big Brother winner Alex Reid: 2010
Alex Reid, cage fighter and MMA comeptitor, won Celebrity Big Brother in 2010. This was the final series aired on Channel 4 before it moved to its still existing home of Channel 5. Married to Katie Price at the time, Reid was booed on his entry and declared “this is why I’m here, to hopefully change these boos into cheers” – and indeed he did – winning with 65% of the vote.

Reid continues to compete as an MMA artist and has even dabbled in acting and has roles in several upcoming feature films. He had a baby with fellow CBB winner Chantelle Houghton – daughter Dolly – in 2012 and the couple split later that year.

Paddy Doherty, Celebrity Big Brother winner: 2011
‘My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding’ star and former bare-knuckle boxer Paddy Doherty won Celebrity Big Brother series 8 in 2011. One of the least known CBB contestants of the series, Doherty beat out bigger names contestants such as Tara Reid, Kerry Katona, Amy Childs and even Jedward.

Paddy Doherty in 2018
Returning to his traveller lifetyle, Doherty appeared in 2012’s ‘When Paddy Met Sally’ a two-part Channel 5 documentary which saw him swap lives with his cormer CBB housemate Sally Bercow. He also appeared on Channel 5’s 2016 doc ‘Gypsy Kids: Our World.’ He came back up in the press in August 2018 when attending the funeral of his late mother Queenie. A prominent figure in his community, thousands came out to mourn her death during her funeral and wake in Cobham, Surrey.

Celebrity Big Brother winner Denise Welch: 2012
Former Corrie actress and Loose Women presenter won Celebrity Big Brother series nine back in 2012. Despite being crowned the winner, her appearance was controversial as she drunkenly stripped off and pulled fellow contestant Karissa Shannon’s trousers down.

Denise Welch has since said she hugely regrets appearing on Celebrity Big Brother. Indeed, her acting career does seem to have taken a bit of a dive since appearing on CBB. Her last TV acting role was on a singular episode of EastEnders in 2016. However, she was reinstated as a Loose Women presenter this year.

Celebrity Big Brother winner Julian Clary: 2012
Comedian Julian Clary won Celebrity Big Brother in 2012. The dry-witted comedian surprised audiences with his fairly under-the-radar appearance and was remarkably quiet. However, he did entertain with many sly one-liners such as describing the CBB diary room chair: “This chair is plastic…that’s a shame.”

Julian Clary has continued to perform as a standup comedian across the UK since his CBB stint. He’s also starred in multiple pantomimes including London Palladium’s Snow White which he will continue appearing in up to 2019.

TV presenter, actor and model Rylan Neal-Clark won Celebrity Big Brother’s eleventh series in 2013. Breaking down in tears when he won, he became a fan favourite for his funny one liners, gregarious personality and penchant for stripping off.

Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby won CBB back in 2013 and became a firm fan favourite thanks to her feisty banter and bigger-than-life personality. Beating runner-up Abz Love, Crosby became renowned in the house for her blunt talking ways, including admitting to farting several times.

Celebrity Big Brother winner Jim Davidson: 2014
Controversial comedian Jim Davidson won Celebrity Big Brother’s 13th series in 2014. Davidson was meant to appear in the eleventh series of CBB but was arrested hours before the launch as part of Operation Yewtree. However, by 2013 police announced that no formal charges would be made against him. Davidson courted controversy in the press for his CBB win, as many of his most famous jokes mock women and the disabled.

Celebrity Big Brother winner Gary Busey: 2014
Hollywood actor Gary Busey won CBB’s 2014 fourteenth series. The eccentric star was part of the lowest ratings of any Celebrity Big Brother series, but still delighted the ones that did watch with his bizarre antics. And despite winning, he received 24 eviction nominations throughout the series – the highest of any CBB competitor ever.

Gary Busey in 2018
Gary, 74-years-old as of 2018, has kept a fairly low profile since appearing on CBB. His most recent TV appearances include competing in 2015’s Dancing with the Stars (the US version of Strictly Come Dancing) and having a small role in 2016’s Sharknado: The 4th Awakening. He also came out as a vehement Donald Trump supporter saying in 2016 saying: “For the American people, vote for Donald Trump come election night.”

Celebrity Big Brother winner Katie Price: 2015
Katie Price won Celebrity Big Brother in 2015, beating fellow controversial celebrities Katie Hopkins and Perez Hilton to first place. With some fans calling her win a ‘fix’ she apologised for being ‘boring’ on the show and claimed her lacklustre turn was due to a ‘medical problem’ for which she was on strong antibiotics for.

In just three dramatic years Katie Price’s star has certainly waned. Still a major British star back in 2015, some fans were surprised she competed on the Channel 5 show at all. Today is a very different picture, and as of August 2018 Price has been given three months to reorder her finances or face bankruptcy. Tabloids have also had a field day this year publishing pictures of her seemingly crumbling country mansion.

Celebrity Big Brother winner James Hill: 2015
There have been quite a few CBB ‘celebrities’ that have left viewers scratching their heads and James Hill was certainly one of them. The former Apprentice contestant hardly seemed a big enough name to be on the series, but despite it all went on to win 2015’s sixteenth series. Hill had previously courted controversy during his Apprentice stint as it was exposed that he had a criminal history, having been convicted of assault.

It’s unclear exactly what CBB winner James Hill has been up to since winning 2015’s series. However, a quick look at his Instagram reveals that he now dubs himself as an “Entrepreneur all about business” and still enjoys living the high life.

Celebrity Big Brother winner Scotty T/Scott Timlin: 2016
Geordie Shore star Scotty T (real name Scott Timlin) was estactic to win CBB in 2016. Beloved by his fellow housemates for his easygoing yet ‘laddy’ nature, it doesn’t seem like any of them had a bad word to say about him.

Scott Timlin/Scotty T in 2018
Scotty T continued to appear on MTV’s Geordie Shore up to January 2018, when he was exposed by the tabloids for taking cocaine. However, his MTV status was reinstated this summer when he began co-presenting the latest series of ‘Just Tattoo of Us’ with fellow former Geordie Shore star Charlotte Crosby.

Celebrity Big Brother winner Stephen Bear: 2016
Shipwrecked and Ex on the Beach contestant Stephen Bear continued his reality career in Celebrity Big Brother, summer 2016. On Day 7 in the house he was given a warning for unacceptable behaviour after throwing a mug in the early hours of the morning and damaging a mirror. Despite the incident, he went on to win the series.

Bear has regularly been in the tabloids since winning CBB in 2016 – and mainly thanks to his turbulent love life. His on-and-off relationships with Vicky Pattison followed by Charlotte Crosby regularly saw him getting papped. He co-presented MTV’s ‘Just Tattoo of Us’ with Crosby, but the two split up in 2017. He was back in the tabloids again this year when he went on an epic Snapchat rant against Crosby.

Coleen Nolan won Celebrity Big Brother’s 19th series and became known as the house’s resident ‘mum.’ Offering wise words of advice and comfort to fellow housemates such as James Cosmo and Jedward.

Sarah Harding won the sympathy vote when she competed in 2017’s CBB. The former Girls Aloud member was an emotional wreck throughout the series and there was some concern that as a recovering alcoholic she was relapsing while in the house. However, she emerged as the winner and even with a new CBB contestant boyfriend – Chad Johnson.

Sarah Harding made it clear that she hoped CBB would revive her once thriving acting and singing career. Despite winning the August 2017 series, it appears to have done little to boosting her celebrity profile and her official website doesn’t appear to have been properly updated since 2016. Perhaps to make matters even worse, her CBB romance with Chad Johnson didn’t make it to the end of the year.

Celebrity Big Brother winner Courtney Act: 2018
Courtney Act aka Shane Jenek was crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother 21st series. Winning with 49.43% of the popular vote, Act beat runner-ups Anne Widdecombe and Shane Lynch. Aussie drag queen Act remarked that it was “ironic” to win the female-led series and said: “Is this real life, this is just amazing. Thank you. I have to say thank you to the eight wonderful women that were in that house.”
