Celebrity MasterChef spoilers follow.

Celebrity MasterChef's 2023 series said goodbye to one more contestant tonight (September 6), as the last semi-final saw four become the final three.

The Wanted star Max George fell at the last-but-one hurdle, leaving Amy Walsh, Luca Bish, and Wynne Evans going into the grand final.

Unlike regular episodes, tonight's instalment saw Max's elimination come halfway through the action. The second half was dedicated to putting the finalists through one final test at a restaurant to hone their skills before competing against each other.

In the first half, the four contestants had to create a theatrical yet comforting dish to impress John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

Amy did an afternoon tea where the sweets tasted savoury and vice versa, Wynne cooked multiple lamb-based dishes from around the world, with some Welsh cakes for good measure. Luca created a Casanova cake with a lot of chocolate and profiteroles, while Max whipped up a three-tier celebrating cake with an elderflower taste.

John and Gregg praised all the celebrities for their cooking — but, as the weakest of the four across the competition, Max was sent home. He didn't mind, though, as he admitted that he made it far further than he expected.

The remaining three were then sent to work at a restaurant under Robin Gill.

Amy was put to work on the first course, a pasta starter with a lot of pumpkin and sage, while Luca was on mains with a Welsh salt marsh lamb that he had to cut very finely and scrape all the fat and meat from the bone.

Wynne had to do a baked Alaska, which involved poaching the rhubarb at a specific temperature while balancing other ingredients at other temperatures.

All of them found it challenging with everything they had to do, but Wynne seemed to struggle the most, especially with reducing his milk.

The courses were served to professional restauranteurs Raymond Blanc, Daniel Clifford, Anna Haugh, Nieves Barragan Mohacho and Matt Gillan. Everyone was impressed with the three finalists, but which one of them will win?

The Celebrity MasterChef 2023 final airs on Friday, September 8 at 9pm on BBC One.
