The Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins finale left viewers confused when a new interrogator arrived who was a dead ringer for Prime Minister Liz Truss.

Celebrity recruits faced the gruelling final of the Channel 4 show on Sunday which puts contestants through a simulation of the SAS selection process, featuring an intense grilling from an angry guest member of staff.

But viewers felt an extra level of disorientation from watching the episode as the interrogator brought in to assist Rudy Reyes and co bore a striking resemblance to Truss.

One viewer tweeted: "Liz Truss on Celebrity SAS tonight. She is a much better interrogator than she is Prime Minister."

Someone else wrote: "What's liz truss doing on celebrity SAS?"

Another viewer commented: "Who knew Liz Truss was a special forces interrogator?!?"

Someone else tweeted: "Has Truss gotten lost on the set of #CelebritySAS ? Doing the hardcore interrogations?"

Another viewer joked: "Liz Truss really giving these recruits a hard time!!!"

The series was recorded last year, well before Truss was in the running to be PM and when Boris Johnson was still in the role, but viewers were tickled by the coincidence of how much the military interrogator looked like her.

One viewer tweeted: "Jesus Christ @trussliz lookie likie with the personality of @pritipatel"

Someone else wrote: "This is how she practices for cabinet meetings. #CelebritySAS"

Another viewer tweeted: "Watching #CelebritySAS and Liz Truss is one scary woman!"

Someone else commented: "why is Liz Truss p***ing about in Jordan, she’s got a country to run smh"

The finale saw four of the celebrities pass the mocked-up SAS selection process - former EastEnders actor Maisie Smith, ex Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard, Calum Best and reality star Ferne McCann.

Falling at the final hurdle were Ashley Cain, Shannon Courtenay and Jade Jones.

The series had previously whittled down the original group that included AJ's brother Curtis Pritchard, Fatima Whitbread and Pete Wicks.
