Celine Dion reveals she has only ever kissed her late husband Rene Angelil

Almost 10 months after the death of her husband Rene Angelil, Celine Dion has revealed she has only ever romantically kissed one man in her life.

The 48-year-old singer was devastated when her spouse passed away in January, two days before his 74th birthday, after a long battle with cancer.

Following her 1000th performance in Las Vegas on Saturday night, the Canadian star opened up about her heartache, admitting that she still thinks about her partner between each and every sold-out show.

“I love him. I’m still in love with him,” she told CBS Sunday Morning, adding that she isn’t ready to fall in love again. “Not now. I’m still married to him. I’ve never kissed another man in my life.”

Insisting that she still has a lot of love in her life, Celine added: “I love. I love. I love him. I’m still in love with him. And I have the love of my children. I have the love of my fans. I love the people that I work with. So, my life is not empty of love.”

The pair – who first met when Celine was just 12 years old, but had a professional relationship until 1987, when they started dating – married in 1994 and had three children together, Rene-Charles 15, and five-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy.

Sharing the memory of her first meeting with Rene, who served as Celine’s manager, she recalled: “I thought he looked very beautiful. He looked great. I felt confident that this man was not treating me as a ‘Oh, hi, little pumpkin’ or ‘Hi, little sweetie’ or like a little baby.”

Understandably after more than 20 years of marriage, Celine struggled to watch her husband suffer in the months leading to his death, and has since taken comfort knowing that he is no longer in pain.

She said: “Before he left, it was very, very difficult for all of us – for me, especially, and my children – to see the man of my life die a little bit more every day.

“The man of my life was my partner, and we were one. So, when he stopped suffering, I said to myself, ‘He’s OK, and he deserves not to suffer.’”

In honor of Celine’s milestone performance at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace over the weekend, AEG and Caesars Entertainment executives have donated $100,000 to the Azar/Angelil Oncology Research Fund – the cancer charity named after her late husband.
