Celtic have tabled new and improved four year contracts to Daniel Kelly and Rocco Vata.

Talks with both players have been going on for some time but the Hoops have now put their best offers on the table to try and keep the highly-rated pair at Parkhead. Republic of Ireland under-21 international Vata is set to become a free agent next month, while Kelly’s existing deal expires at the turn of the year and he could open pre-contract talks with interested clubs in July.

Both have had first-team involvement under Brendan Rodgers this season and are keen to get both academy graduates tied down to long-term deals. A number of Italian and English clubs have also made approaches to open talks with Vata. Celtic would only get around £300,000 in training compensation for the 19-year-old but would prefer to keep the players as they see him as a talent they can develop over the longer term.

Vata has been training with Rodgers’ team all season and also netted in the Scottish Cup win over Buckie Thistle. Kelly scored his first senior goal against Dundee back in February, having been a regular in the Celtic B team.
