Celtic transfer state of play on Idah, Jensen, Bernardo and linked Atletico Madrid star

The Spanish media say Atletico Madrid keeper Horatiu Moldovan is back on Celtic's radar. But Record Sport understands the Hoops are looking to other targets.

A number of keepers are being tracked by Brendan Rodgers and we revealed last night that Peter Vindahl Jensen is high among them. But the boss hinted his options are still very much open. The Spanish press say 26-year-old Moldovan is once again a live option. He was loosely linked with Celtic in January but moved to Atletico instead. However since then he's found minutes hard to come by - he's yet to play a single game for his new club - and said before the Euros that he wants a move.

Now it's claimed he's under consideration again with Basel, Sevilla, Ludogorets and Real Betis also keen. But we understand he isn't viewed as a live option as things stand with Jensen and other targets more likely.

Moldovan and Jensen are of a similar profile - tall, commanding keepers, and both 26 with their peak between the sticks lying just ahead of them. With Liverpool's Caoimhin Kelleher also fitting that description, it's becoming clear exactly what Brendan Rodgers is looking for to fill the Joe Hart-shaped void - and that may work against links with 37-year-old Kasper Schmeichel who could be viewed more as a short-term fix than a long-term solution.

Elsewhere, Record Sport understands talks are pressing on with Norwich over Adam Idah - despite efforts from Canaries' sporting director Ben Knapper to play it down. The line from the English Championship club is that Idah will be assessed in pre-season before any decision is made and Knapper said on Monday: "He's a fantastic player, and in winter he had one of the best goals per minute ratios in Europe. He's a proven goalscorer at Championship level and did very well at Celtic. He's a full international who's home grown and has come through the system. He’s exactly the type of player who excites me."

It's believed however that Idah's desire to make a move happen has encouraged Celtic who are expected to press hard to make it happen. It's not a dissimilar situation to Paulo Bernardo and the latest there is that, with the player keen on a return to Parkhead, the Hoops are keen to settle on a fee in the region of £4m plus add-ons. The Portuguese side want something closer to the £6m buyout clause in his loan agreement from last season, but with a desire from all fronts to get that deal done, it does seem like a matter of when rather than if.
