“The Challenge: All Stars 4” eliminated player: 'I'm proud of the people I pissed off'

"I can't be mad at Nicole for being gullible and stupid and not knowing how to play the game," [SPOILER] tells "Entertainment Weekly."

Warning: This article contains spoilers for The Challenge: All Stars 4 episode 6.

Jasmine Reynaud wasn't supposed to be in the elimination on this week's episode of The Challenge: All Stars 4. Even though Cara Maria Sorbello schemed to get Jasmine voted in against Veronica Portillo, Nicole Zanatta won the daily challenge and decided to take Jasmine's place so she could win her star and be eligible for the final. The decision had been made: Nicole was ready to compete against Veronica, and Jasmine was safe. She had her star, was eligible to run the final, and had alliances with almost everyone in the cast.

But then three-time champion Veronica proved why she's one of the best social and political players The Challenge has ever seen by convincing Nicole to immediately change her decision. Nicole announced she changed her mind, and would be competing against Jasmine instead. Nicole ultimately won the physical elimination, sending Jasmine home.

"I was thinking, 'Man, I'm actually doing this. This is happening. We're at the halfway point. I've just got to get through this,'" Jasmine tells Entertainment Weekly. "And it slipped out of my hands. But I can't blame anyone — it just wasn't my time. I'm proud of the game I played, I'm proud of the moves I made, I'm proud of the people I pissed off, I'm proud of the new enemies I have now."

Below, Jasmine breaks down that shocking last-minute elimination change, what her relationship is like with Cara Maria after that political battle, and more.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: This season, you really showed how much of a social and political threat you are in this game.

JASMINE REYNAUD: Coming in here, I know I'm not the strongest — I'm not Cara, I'm not Laurel, I'm not Nicole. I know this and I own it. I have a better social and political game, and I wanted to be that person that can show other people who may not be the strongest that you can still go to a final and win. People talk about, "She was going to walk her way to a final," and I know quite a few strong people who walked their way to a final. Jenn, Rivals 1, perfectly walked her way to a final, so I'm just doing what other OGs have done before. It just didn't work out for me. But I think it also made people realize that you can't sleep on me. I may be 4'11" and 115 pounds, but you've got to put respect on my name.

Avoiding eliminations by playing a flawless social or political game is not easy to do.

It's way harder to do. You have to hope that no one sees, "Wait. No one's ever said her name. She's been in the bottom how many times?" I was nervous about how I was going to play this, but I was like, I'm just going to go for it. Either I go big or I go home. Unfortunately I went home, but it is what it is.

You came close to avoiding elimination again this week, but things got chaotic when Nicole switched her decision to go against you instead of Veronica. What was that moment like for you?

Oh my God. It was taking way too long so I'm like, "What's going on? This is not happening. I worked too hard to get to this spot." Because in my mind, if I can get through this elimination without having to go in, I'm going to the final. I will be untouchable. And then when I'm watching Veronica talk and I'm like, "Nicole, no, no, no, don't do this," and she calls my name, I'm mad and crushed on the inside. But I can't get mad at Veronica for playing her game. I can't be mad at Nicole for being gullible and stupid and not knowing how to play the game. I should have had Laurel talk to her or something. But it's another physical elimination, and I've gone against some of the strongest girls in physical eliminations. Let's just add another one to my belt.

Did you try to fight Nicole's change of mind? I would have tried to argue that the decision was already made, just to save myself.

I didn't even try to fight it because when you know you're going in, you have to prepare yourself. Me exploding, going off, cussing everybody out was only going to screw my game up even more. I wasn't going to be able to play and focus and concentrate. It sucked, but I'll get my redemption.

Jasmine of 10 years ago would be exploding and cussing everyone out. It's wild to see how different the Jasmine of All Stars is ...

I mean, Jasmine now will still cuss you out, but it's in a more grown-up way. You've got to learn to pick your battles — I think having kids and an ex-husband has taught me that. I know which battles are worth the fight, and I know when I need to play chess or checkers with people. That was just not a situation that I was going to win. If Nicole was allowed to change her vote, there was nothing that I could have said or done. Someone way above me has made that call, and I've got to respect it and just play the game.

Could you hear what Veronica was saying to Nicole?

I couldn't hear anything that she was saying. To see it now, I'm like, "That damn little snake." But I can't even be mad at Veronica. That's why she is an All Star. Even she said, "Damn, I still got it. Nicole really believed me." Nicole, you are that gullible. Jesus, girl.

What did you think she was saying to Nicole in that moment?

I just was just thinking, "Is she making a deal with her?" Because Nicole already made a deal with me and Flora before we got here that she was going to save me. She shook my hand and she promised Flora, too. So I didn't think anything of it, really. I'm thinking we're just waiting on production. And then when TJ says, "We've got a change," I'm like, "Really?" All you can do is laugh at that point.

Was there anything else that happened in that moment that wasn't shown in the episode?

That's pretty much how it went down. Well, I did tell Nicole before we started, "You've made a very big mistake. You will not win this Challenge. I doubt you'll even go to a final." If looks could kill ... Flora wanted to literally shoot lasers down at her. Because it's like, "You lied to me and you lied to Mama Flora. Good luck going back in that house now."

What was it like competing in that elimination against Nicole?

We had just watched Kefla and Steve go, and I was like, "This is going to hurt. Thank God I have good insurance." But I've done crazier things, so let's see what can happen. My rope got halfway over. I have a chance. And then she just dumped the whole thing on me. I'm like, "All right, we're done." You know what the funny thing is? The game makers afterwards told us we completely played that game differently than they thought we would. They didn't think we were all going to wrestle. They thought we were going to all pull the rope. That might've worked to my advantage if I would've thought about that. But we all played the game completely differently than how they built it. I wish I was 168 pounds again — it would've been a different story. But I think I held my own against Nicole, and that's not an easy thing to say. And she was not going easy on me, because I told her, "If you go easy on me, I'm going to punch you in the face."

What was your relationship with Cara like going into this season, and when did things change for you?

I met Cara on my very first challenge, Rivals 1. I had no problem with her. We never talked outside of shows. We've never had each other's numbers. We don't even follow each other on social media. The last time I saw her was what, Free Agents? 11 years ago? I'm not even sure how long ago. She didn't even realize I had gotten married and got divorced and had kids — and that's fine. There's nothing wrong with that. We had no problems with each other in the house.

When I made the call to vote her in, it was never personal. It was business. You are someone that I have to go against. There can only be one winner. I'm trying to build a final that I want, just like you and Johnny and so many people have done for years. So for her to sit there and say, "We're friends," we're not friends how you and Brandon are. Just because you say that you saved me in the first vote, you didn't save me. Nobody was going to vote for me anyway. You chose to do that, so don't put that on me. So I don't know what to tell Cara. She, for some reason, was more mad at me, but was able to forgive Brandon, who she's closer to. I'm not understanding her logic behind that one. If she wants to have a conversation with me about it, that's fine. We can. If she doesn't, that's fine too. It doesn't matter to me. I wish her no ill will.

So you two haven't talked this over since filming ended?

No — like I said, we don't have each other's numbers. I have no way of getting in contact with her. And if she wants to have the conversation, she's going to have to get in contact with me because I did nothing wrong.

Do you regret voting her in, knowing now that she came back and immediately got her revenge on both you and Brandon?

Absolutely not. If Rachel would've came back, I would've had three people coming after me. I knew Cara was going to come after me. I took a shot, she took a shot, and her aim was better than mine. That's what makes her not just a physical threat, it also makes her a social political threat. I respect what she did. No hard feelings. And I think it sets a precedent hopefully in future All Stars, that people will play the game again. We're not 20 years old anymore. We're in our 30s, 40s, some people pushing 50. Let's play. Let's show these new kids how it's really supposed to be done.
