Former Middlesbrough favourite Albert Adomah has revealed his plans to play on next season, despite leaving boyhood club QPR this summer.

The 36-year-old recently made his record 525th Championship appearance and revealed that he has no plans to hang up his boots just yet, as he plans to add to that tally. Though he had hoped to retire at QPR, he will be looking for an alternative Championship club this summer.

“The day that I can’t run is the day that I’ll think about retiring, or if I have a serious injury then I’ll stop," he told BBC Radio London. "I still believe I could do one more season in the Championship or two or three more at a lower level."

Hull City ambition inspired by Boro

Hull City shocked many this week when they made the decision to sack manager Liam Rosenior after failing to make the play-offs. They are planning to make a quick appointment in order to get ahead with summer planning, and former Hamburg boss Tim Walter appears to be the man they want to appoint.

According to our sister site Hull Live, the Tigers are planning another ambitious transfer window and will back the new boss with a 'war chest' to improve the squad and try and improve on last term's seventh-placed finish. Expected to exercise the option to sign Ryan Giles permanently, they are also looking for a new striker as Liam Delap's loan came to an end - and Boro are inspiring them in that regard.

"Middlesbrough's signing of Emmanuel Latte-Lath for £4m from Atalanta last summer has given the Tigers encouragement that goalscoring value is out there in the market," Hull Live report. The Tigers, they say, could sign up to ten players this summer, but are also braced for Premier League offers for Jacob Greaves and Jaden Philogene.

Leeds United's Daniel Farke decision

Leeds United will start their play-off campaign this weekend when they travel to Norwich City for the semi-final first leg. It comes as the Whites missed out on automatic promotion to Leicester City and Ipswich Town.

While Leeds will head into the play-offs as favourites, the Athletic claim that the Whites board has already made the decision to stick with manager Daniel Farke, even if the play-offs don't go as planned. Owned by the group who also own NFL franchise the 49ers, they've shown patience and restraint in their ownership of the American side, and are set to do so at Elland Road too.

Though failure to win promotion could lead to the sales of some big players including star man Crysencio Summerville, they will still be in receipt of parachute payments and believe Farke will be able to use the financial resources available to rebuild their squad for another promotion charge.

Star man to leave Stoke City on a free

With the season now over for all but four Championship clubs, retained lists have started to come out over the course of the last week. Though Boro are yet to officially release their list, it's already been revealed that Paddy McNair will be leaving the club this summer.

As for elsewhere, Coventry City, Stoke City and Rotherham United are the clubs to so far publish their lists. The headline news from those is that Stoke star man Tyrese Campbell will be leaving the Potters after turning down a new deal at the club. He's had his injury troubles in recent years, but will surely prove an astute signing for any Championship club this summer.

Meanwhile, captain Liam Kelly will leave Coventry City and has been lauded as a club legend by boss Mark Robins. He was part of the Sky Blues side when still in League Two - winning two promotions with the Midlands side and helping them to a play-off final. On Rotherham's released list are two ex-Boro players as Grant Hall and Lee Peltier both exit the New York Stadium.
