RESIDENTS will have a chance to quiz representatives from McDonald's over the company's plans to open a new restaurant in a Bradford district town centre.

As reported by the Telegraph & Argus, the fast-food chain wants to open a branch on Main Street in Bingley, at the former police station site.

An online petition has been set up in opposition to the proposals - with a number of concerns raised.

McDonald's has launched a public consultation seeking residents' views on its plans - and people are invited to attend an event at Bingley Arts Centre between 2pm and 7pm on Monday, where there will be a chance to put questions to the project team.

A McDonald's spokesperson said: "We are excited about the opportunity to open a new restaurant in Bingley, bringing significant investment to the area and creating up to 120 jobs in the local community.

"As part of the consultation process, we are hosting a community event for residents on Monday, May 13, between 2pm and 7pm at Bingley Arts Centre, which will provide an opportunity to meet with the project team and ask any questions.

"We look forward to discussing our plans and engaging further with the local community throughout the consultation."
