Channel 4 The Piano star Brad Kella breaks silence as he teases ‘big announcement’

Brad Kella has broken his silence on whether he will be performing live in Liverpool.

Brad appeared on Channel 4’s The Piano earlier this year. The 22 year-old from Fazakerley told Claudia Winkleman in Lime Street Station about how his difficult upbringing was turned around by his foster parents EV and Frank.

Brad made it through to the final of the show where he was awarded performance of the night by judges Mika and Lang Lang in a show that moved the judges and audience members to tears.

Since the finale was broadcast last month, Brad has kept fans up-to-date on his Instagram and continued to showcase his amazing skills as a pianist. Many have been wondering if Brad will perform live to a home crowd in Liverpool and he has not previously addressed the subject.

However, Brad has now explained that a Liverpool gig could be happening later this year. On one of Brad’s Instagram posts yesterday, he could be seen playing the piano in the studio, captioning the post with the word "Ideas", suggesting new music from him could be on the way.

Commenting on the post, Michelle Meakin asked: “When are you playing in Merseyside?” In response, Brad said: “Hopefully November mate, nothing is exact but could have a big announcement soon.”

Brad has also reflected on his recent achievements, adding in another post: “What a year it’s been so far.

“Can’t actually put into words how grateful I am at the moment with everything that’s going on. Next few months are going to be a journey and I can’t wait to make my friends, family and supporters proud of me. It’s important to me that I do my city proud.”

He was flooded with support last week as he announced his partner Abbie Lewis had given birth to the couple’s second child, Melody Sarah Kellaher.
