Channel 5 The Night Caller's Suzanne Packer's famous ex-husband and brother

Channel 5's latest thriller, The Night Caller, is set to keep viewers on tenterhooks with its all-star cast.

Robert Glenister, known for his roles in Hustle, Spooks, and Sherwood, stars as Tony, a taxi driver with a dangerous obsession.

Tony becomes fixated on cafe worker Rosa, portrayed by Casualty star Suzanne Packer, and late-night radio talk-show host Lawrence, played by Sean Pertwee of You and Gotham fame.

Suzanne is no stranger to medical dramas, having starred as Tess Bateman in BBC's Casualty from September 2003 to August 2015, as well as appearances in Holby City and Doctors.

Before her time on Casualty, the 61 year old actress had a role on Grange Hill at the age of 32, where she played teacher Miss Foster.

Her acting career didn't stop after Casualty. She appeared in an episode of Death in Paradise as Maya Oprey in 2018, and recently featured in ITV's The Pembrokeshire Murders.

What many may not know is that Suzanne has a famous sibling. Her brother, Colin Jackson, is a former sprint and hurdling athlete who won an Olympic silver medal.

He has been world champion twice, and held the 60-metre hurdle world record for an impressive 27 years.

Post his Olympic career, he branched out into presenting sports on the BBC and even participated in Dancing On Ice in 2021.

Raised in Cardiff, South Wales, their family boasts Jamaican roots. Prior to her venture into acting, Suzanne trained at the National Youth Theatre in Wales and even taught drama in schools.

In an interview with the BBC about her experience as a teacher, she revealed: "I loved it. And do you know why? Because of the acting. They fed off each other in a very, very positive way."

The brother-sister duo have collaborated on TV just once - back in 2011 when Colin and Suzanne competed in the celebrity edition of BBC's Pointless, though sadly, they were eliminated in the first round.

Fame isn't exclusive to her brother in the family. Suzanne's ex-partner also belongs to the acting fraternity.

She was previously wedded to Jesse Newman from May 1997 to 2004, with whom she reportedly shares a son, Paris.

Jesse has been featured in the 2022 movie F***ed in the Head, along with the 2014 comedy Motherless.
