Armagh and Donegal renew acquaintances once again this weekend with the Anglo Celt Cup on offer at a sold-out St Tiernach’s Park.

It will be the fourth meeting between the teams so far in 2024 and there’s nothing to say they couldn’t lock horns again further down the line.

While the Dr McKenna Cup clash in January was something of a non-event with Armagh opting to field their U20 side, there was nothing to separate the sides when they met Division Two at the Box-It Athletic Grounds.

When they clashed again in Croke Park for the Division Two title at the end of March, Jim McGuinness’s side claimed a 0-15 to 0-14 win with the teams matching each other score-for-score in an engrossing final quarter.

Donegal have since dethroned Ulster champions Derry and beaten Tyrone after extra-time while Down pushed Armagh all the way in the semi-final after Kieran McGeeney’s men breezed past Fermanagh in the quarter-final.
