Tyrone bid to keep their remarkable winning Championship run over Cavan going when they travel to Kingspan Breffni this weekend.

The Red Hands haven’t lost a Championship game against Cavan since their one-point Ulster SFC quarter-final defeat in 1983. Yet, Tyrone have also never beaten Cavan in Kingspan Breffni (formerly Breffni Park) so something has to give on Sunday.

Tyrone’s League campaign saw them retain their status in Division One, but they ended on a low note with a 21-point defeat to Dublin in round seven.

Cavan’s League campaign also faded out as they missed out on promotion before causing the first, and to date only, upset of the Ulster Championship by beating Monaghan in Clones.
