As Channing Tatum marks his 44th birthday on April 26, what's next for the movie star?

Tatum has two big movies coming soon: Fly Me to the Moon, a rom-com with Scarlett Johansson and the 1969 moon landing as the backdrop, plus Blink Twice, the thriller that brought him to meeting now-fiancése Zoë Kravitz, the director.

About Fly Me to the Moon, out July 12, Johansson, 39, told PEOPLE that "falling in love with" Tatum onscreen "was pretty easy," as they worked together for the first time. He is "such an easy-going actor, good spirited and professional," she said, and "such a likable person."

For Tatum, Blink Twice (formerly titled Pussy Island and in theaters Aug. 23) is "near and dear to my heart in more ways than I can count," as he said on Instagram. The first trailer recently had its debut, showing the star as a billionaire who invites a star-studded cast to a private island, where murder and intrigue ensues.

As Tatum told WSJ. Magazine back in 2022, he "didn’t know Zoë before I met her for the film."

"When we first met the movie was pretty different than its form now, but the themes were the same. All the iterations it has gone through were all pretty punk rock, to be honest," he said at the time.

Kravitz, in an interview with GQ that same year, added of working with her partner, "I think if you can do something like that together, it's a good test. And we came out even stronger."

Stronger, and now the couple is working on arranging their wedding amid busy schedules. They're both "really excited about it," a source recently told PEOPLE, adding, “They’re actively wedding planning and working through all the details."

It was just over a year ago when Tatum admitted that he didn't know "if I’m ever going to get married again," during a Vanity Fair interview.

He, in July 2009, married Jenna Dewan, his costar from the 2006 dance drama Step Up whom he shares daughter Everly, who turns 11 in May.

Their breakup announcement came in April 2018, and a divorce filing officially came that October — and it remains unresolved six years later. (They were ruled single by a judge in 2019, though they haven't resolved a financial settlement.)

What are they mostly at odds about and potentially headed to trial over? How to fairly divvy up profits from Tatum's Magic Mike franchise, which he launched while they were still together.

Dewan, 43, claims Tatum has taken measures to "dilute and conceal the value of, and licensing income therefrom, the community property share of Magic Mike intellectual property," per court filings. He disputes this in his own filings, saying he "never denied" her "of her share of the community assets or income."

Dewan has since moved on with fiancé Steve Kazee, with whom she shares son Callum, 4, and is currently expecting another baby.

Birthday boy Tatum has spoken about aging in previous interviews, saying that in many he feels better than ever.

"I can't do long runs anymore. I played 10 years of football, I've done extensive training now just through all the movies I've done [and] my cartilage in my knees is gone. They're not happy," he told USA Today in 2022 while promoting Dog, the movie he starred in and directed.

"It's just kind of the nature of the beast: The machine slows down," Tatum added at the time. "I actually think I'm close to being healthier now than I've ever been, even though I might have looked better before. But I can lose being in shape in, like, four days where it took like two months to get there. So you have to just stay more diligent."
