Charles Venn and Karen break down over 'Strictly Come Dancing' axe

Charles Venn and his professional dance partner Karen Clifton broke down on Strictly spin-off show It Takes Two last night.

The pair received the least votes from viewers on Sunday night’s show, and finally said farewell to the show.

It had been a rough ride for the couple, who despite solid performances, found themselves in the dance off on several occasions.

But as Zoe Ball ran them through a montage of their best moments in the series, she had to offer out tissues as the pair began to blub.

“Everyone’s in pieces!” Ball added.

Casualty actor Venn said that he was ‘proud’ of what he achieved on the show, adding: “It’s incredible, it doesn’t feel like that was me. According to my kids I couldn’t dance… they’re eating humble pie now for sure.”

Many viewers were furious that the couple got the axe this week, after they headed into the dance off with Ashley Roberts and Pasha, despite the latter couple having scored a higher 38 for their quickstep on musicals week.

A backlash has been brewing for the last two weeks over Ashley’s place on the series, due to her previous dance experience, while the majority of the others competing are complete newcomers.

Stacey Dooley remains the odds-on favourite to win, with Joe Sugg as 7/4, Faye Tozer at 8/1, Ashley at 9/1 and Lauren Steadman at 16/1.
