The Chase has been criticised for airing an "insensitive" question about The Prodigy on the same day as the death of Keith Flint.

The frontman was found dead in his home yesterday (March 4) aged 49, with his fellow bandmates and many others paying tribute.

However, on last night's edition of the ITV quiz show, host Bradley Walsh asked the question: "Which of these chart acts has the fewest members?", one of the options being The Prodigy.

Viewers immediately hit out at the show for the question, one writing: "Very poor timing on the prodigy question !"

"Did the Chase really just show a question about fewest band members with The Prodigy as an answer on the day Keith Flint died? Bad taste," another added.

It's worth noting that The Chase is filmed well in advance of the air date, so this may have been a case of unfortunate timing.

Digital Spy has reached out to ITV for comment.

Keith's bandmates Liam Howlett and Maxim Reality described their friend as "a true pioneer, innovator and legend".

"He will be forever missed," they added. "We thank you for respecting the privacy of all concerned at this time."

The Chase airs on ITV.
