The Chase’s Mark Labbett ‘feels good’ in first picture since split from Hayley Palmer

The Chase’s Mark Labbett has shared the first photo of himself following his split from presenter Hayley Palmer. The couple parted ways in May after a year.

In the snap posted to his Instagram Stories, the TV star could be seen tucking into a bowl of soup and freshly baked bread. He was wearing a black t-shirt and cut a trim figure.

Mark captioned the snap by sharing his nutritional plans for the summer. "My summer of protein and pain. Gym, nutrition #seasonswickersley feels good to be The Beast :),” he penned.

Mark, who is known as The Beast on the ITV quiz show, had been dating TV presenter Hayley Palmer for a year but the pair split last month shortly after celebrating their first anniversary together.

Confirming the news of their break-up on her Instagram Stories in May, Hayley wrote: "It is with regret I announce that myself and Mark have gone our separate ways. We had the best year together and I truly wish him all the best for the future". She added: “Off I go to listen to Taylor Swift,” with a broken heart emoji.

Their split came just days after they made a joint television appearance on Loose Women to mark their first anniversary. Presenter Charlene White said to Mark: "People are very excited by your love story, does it feel like a long year or like time has flown past?" Mark went to reply but was hilariously interrupted by Hayley who warned: "Say the right answer!" to which Mark quipped: "The secret to a happy relationship? Yes dear!"

Mark continued: "Because we live quite a bit apart, obviously I live up by Sheffield and she's a Chelsea girl, we tend to look at our diaries and when we can sync up together.
