Revealed: The professions most likely to cheat on their partners

A new poll has outed finance as the employment sector containing the most cheaters.

The study of more than 5,000 women - all of whom have cheated - placed bankers, brokers, analysts and their ilk in the top spot, closely followed by pilots, flight attendants and other aviation industry professionals.

Healthcare careers come third, proving that doctors and nurses can be very naughty indeed, while the more general ‘business’ category was in fourth place.

The poll of 5,658 women was carried out by Victoria Milan, a dating website for attached people looking for a bit of extra-matital action.

They said work was the easiest place to find someone to cheat with as it was so convenient.

70 per cent felt a work fling meant increased potential for things to end badly - not ideal when you still have to work with that person.

21 per cent also said that if rumours of an office romance start, there is an increased chance that your (original) partner will find out.

Only 10 per cent were worried about the affect a fling would have on their career, however.

Sigurd Vedal, founder and chief executive of Victoria Milan said: “The survey clearly shows that even though there’s a risk to your career, having an affair at work makes life a lot more pleasant.

“At the same time, the majority of cheaters would steer clear of mixing work with pleasure - not because it damages their career, but because they are at risk of being found out, or will feel uncomfortable.”
