A debut assist from Alvaro Morata was not enough as Thomas Muller left Chelsea stunned in Singapore after his two superb goals secured a 3-2 win for Bayern Munich on Tuesday.

Carlo Ancelotti's side opened the scoring in the sixth minute through Rafinha before Muller struck twice to take Bayern into a comfortable 3-0 lead within 27 minutes.

Marcos Alonso got one back before the break, though, before Antonio Conte brought on Morata for his first appearance since signing for the club last week.

Although the Spaniard couldn't score, he did win the corner from which Michy Batshuayi netted Chelsea's second of the night in the 85th minute.

But despite their comeback against Bayern, the manner of Chelsea's first half will be an issue Conte will no doubt look at ahead of the club's final fixture in Singapore against Inter Milan on Saturday.

Coming into this glamour friendly, Conte will have been pleased with his side's performance in Chelsea's first pre-season friendly in the Far East against Arsenal, which saw Batshuayi score twice and set up another in the 3-0 win in Beijing.

It was just the confidence boost the Blues will have needed coming into their clash against Bayern, although the bad news for Chelsea was undoubtedly losing Pedro to injury, with the winger expected to fly home as a result of the multiple fractures he sustained against the Gunners.

With Kenedy also being sent home following offensive remarks he made on his Instagram account, Conte opted to hand academy graduate Jeremie Boga his chance to shine on the wing after the 20-year-old impressed against Arsenal.

Andreas Christensen, back from his two-year loan spell at Borussia Monchengladbach, also started in place of David Luiz but new signing Morata was left on the bench as expected.

Yet despite a confident start from Conte's men against a side that had already lost in pre-season to Arsenal and AC Milan, Bayern took just six minutes to take the lead.

Rafinha was the man to open the scoring after finding himself in space and with time to unleash a low, long-range effort from the right that hit the far post and flew into the net.

Bayern then doubled their lead six minutes later when Franck Ribery dribbled past Cesar Azpilicueta before squaring the ball into the area for Muller, who coolly volleyed it past a frustrated-looking Thibaut Courtois.

James Rodriguez could have made it 3-0 but somehow smashed the ball over the bar despite being completely unmarked on the left, but Ancelotti's men did eventually get their third when Muller ran into space in midfield before bending his effort past Courtois from 30 yards out.

It was a masterclass of a performance from Bayern, with the team looking up for the fight in contrast to Chelsea, who looked jaded and tired.

But after a first-half drinks break, Chelsea seemingly awoke from their slumber and Alonso threatened to get one back when he cut in and blasted over the bar before Batshuayi forced a save from Tom Starke just before the break.

Chelsea's plan of pushing men forward paid off though seconds before the whistle when Victor Moses' cut-back found Alonso on the other flank who struck the ball cleanly to hand hope to the Blues going into the break.

James could have put the game out of Chelsea's reach but missed two perfect chances to score while Conte reacted by bringing on Morata for his Chelsea debut.

Willian fired high before substitute David Luiz's long-range effort took a deflection and hit the post and fellow sub Fikayo Tomori headed a cross wide.

It proved to be a good spell for the Blues and one that ended in a goal - though not victory - for the Premier League champions. Morata won a corner which Cesc Fabregas took before flicking the ball into Batshuayi's path, who finished from close range.

It was too little, too late though and Bayern secured a 3-2 win over Chelsea, who will now need to regroup ahead of facing Inter on Saturday.
