Chelsea are locked in talks with Leicester City today after apparently demanding that at least one player should go the opposite direction if they are complete the signing of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Leicester need to bring in quick cash to comply with Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) before the end of the football financial year on Sunday - and the sale of star midfielder Dewsbury-Hall is the clearest way to make sure they avoid further breaches.

A deal to Brighton and Hove Albion collapsed but Chelsea have swooped in with 11th hour negotiations. A total £10m has already been pocketed from Chelsea in compensation for manager Enzo Maresca and his staff, and Maresca will know as well as anyone just how much City need to get on the right side of the rule book.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claims Chelsea "insist to include at least one player in a separate deal" and "already have the green light" on personal terms with Dewsbury-Hall if they can sort out the package with Leicester.

Three players have already been suggested as potential makeweights, albeit in a technically separate deal - midfielder Cesare Casadei, who was on loan at Leicester last year; striker David Datro Fofana, who spent last season on loan at Union Berlin and Burnley; and Armando Broja, another centre-forward, who has just had half-a-season on loan at Fulham.

However, there is rival interest being claimed in Broja this weekend, including from Everton.

“Keep a close eye on Armando Broja because I’m hearing there’s interest from several clubs. In the last 24-48 hours, clubs like Everton and others have started moving around Broja, so there could be movement around him this weekend," said Romano.
