Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher insists his full focus is playing his best football for England at Euro 2024 amid the speculation around his future.

Aston Villa and Tottenham both hold a strong interest in the 24-year-old who has one year left on his current Chelsea contract. However, due to Chelsea's position in regards to Profit and Sustainability Rules, Gallagher could leave this summer and raise up to £50m.

"I’ve just been focusing on England and this is the most important thing right now, for me and the country," Gallagher said in a press conference this afternoon. "I just want to start the tournament now.

"I’ve come a long way this season. I give a lot of credit to Pochettino and for what he did for me. He gave me responsibility and trust at Chelsea and, like I said, it puts me in a better position to be part of the team in this tournament. I will do everything I can to help the team as much as possible."

Asked how he felt once Pochettino left Chelsea, Gallagher said: "He did so much for me so I was sad for him and sad for the coaching staff. I’m really excited about the new manager coming in and myself and everyone at Chelsea are really excited to work with him.

"I am a Chelsea player right now and now I am just thinking about England and the tournament."

Meanwhile, Chelsea and Villa continue talks over a move for Jhon Duran. The Colombia international is valued at around £40m and wants the move to Stamford Bridge.
