Cheltenham Town's lead physical performance coach Sammy Gilchrist is set to depart for a role at Bristol City.

He has overseen the Robins' sports science department for two seasons, taking over from Josh Harris who left to join Bath Rugby after four years in the role.

Gilchrist previously worked within Cheltenham's academy as a strength and conditioning coach, following an internship at Cardiff City.

He has an MSc in sport and exercise science (physiology) and a BSc in sport and exercise science, both from Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Gilchrist will now link up with Championship club Bristol City's youth set-up, which is rated as a Category 2 Academy and based at the club's High Performance Centre in Failand.
