Chesterfield general election 2024 results in full

Voters in Chesterfield have gone to the ballot box in the general election 2024.

A new Member of Parliament is being elected for the Derbyshire constituency which includes the areas of Brampton East and Boythorpe; Brampton West and Loundsley Green; Brimington North; Brimington South; Brockwell; Dunston; Hasland; Linacre; Rother; Spire; Staveley Central; Staveley South; Walton; Whittington; and Whittington Moor.

Ahead of the general election, Labour's Toby Perkins was MP. He has represented the area since 2010.

The shock summer general election was called by Rishi Sunak on May 22, with elections taking place in all 650 seats across the UK. Since the 2019 general election major boundary changes affecting 90% of Parliamentary constituencies have come into force.

Ahead of the election, a Conservative government had been in power in Parliament since 2010.

Polls closed in the general election 2024 at 10pm on Thursday, July 4, with counts taking place overnight. Results from across the UK are expected in the early hours of Friday morning.
