Chicago Fire star Alberto Rosende is set to exit the show during season 12, it has been reported.

Deadline understands that the actor, who has played Blake Gallo in the NBC series for four seasons, will leave after making an appearance in the upcoming season premiere.

Rosende’s departure from the show is said to have been fully amicable.

Reckless firefighter Blake first joined the team at Firehouse 51 back in season eight, and Rosende was then promoted to a show regular in 2019.

It is not yet known how Blake will be written out of the series, but the firefighter has often put himself in danger during his time on the show, including when he nearly died in season 11 after a building collapsed on him.

Rosende isn’t the only cast member leaving Chicago Fire soon, as last month it was announced that Kara Killmer would be leaving her role as Sylvie Brett during the next season.

Killmer has appeared in nearly 200 episodes since first joining the series back in 2014 during season three, alongside regular appearances in the other 'One Chicago' shows.

It isn’t yet confirmed when in season 12 Sylvie will say goodbye to Firehouse 51, or what her exit will look like.

Despite the upcoming departures of these popular characters, fans can look forward to the return of Taylor Kinney’s character Lieutenant Kelly Severide to Firehouse 51, after Kinney took a leave of absence to deal with a personal matter.

Chicago Fire, alongside spin-off shows Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med, recently began filming, after the recent Hollywood strikes brought a halt to production.

Fans will be eagerly anticipating the new season, especially as season 11 was left on a cliffhanger, when Randall ‘Mouch’ McHolland (Christian Stolte) was seriously injured during a rescue call.

Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Med air on NBC and Peacock in the US, and on Sky Witness in the UK.
