The official logline for the series states that it is set in the fictional town of Merinac, “where a generations-old rift between dueling fried chicken restaurants – Mimi’s and Frannie’s – has left the founders’ families fractured and the locals taking sides. When a popular cooking show comes to town, things get more complicated as sparks begin to fly and secrets are uncovered.”

Rivera recently starred in the Hallmark films “Groundswell” and “Sugar Plum Twist.” He is also known for his roles in films like “La ultima gira” as well as shows like “Fantasy Island,” “Startup,” and “Incognita.” He also recently appeared as Usnavi in “In the Heights” at the Coliseum in Puerto Rico as well as in “Evita” at the Regent’s Park Theater in London. He made his Broadway debut in “On Your Feet!” at the Marquis Theatre.

Rivera is repped by Buchwald and De Paz Management.

Annie Mebane is the executive producer and showrunner of “The Chicken Sisters,” which has been given an eight-episode order. Bradley Gardner, Larry Grimaldi, Ani Kevork, Hannah Pillemer, Fernando Szew, Shawn Williamson, and Jamie Goehring also executive produce. It is produced by Fox Entertainment’s MarVista Entertainment in association with Lighthouse Pictures and Busy B Entertainment. Fox Entertainment Global will handle international distribution.
