Child airlifted to hospital after reportedly 'falling from moving car' on M25

A child was airlifted to hospital amid reports of having fallen from a moving car on the M25 motorway.

Traffic was brought to a standstill as police cordoned off the A127 slip-road near Junction 29 of the motorway, heading towards the Dartford Bridge.

The child, whose gender and age has not been revealed by police, is not thought to be in a life-threatening condition after being taken to hospital following the incident on Sunday morning (14 May).

The incident caused delays to traffic and police advised those waiting to remain in their vehicles for their own safety.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Officers were called to the A127 slip road of the M25 near Junction 29 shortly before 11:30am following reports of a child being injured on the road.

"Air ambulance were in attendance and the child has been taken to hospital. Their injuries are not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing."

Essex Police said investigations were ongoing into the circumstances of the incident, amid unconfirmed reports that the child had fallen from a moving car.
