A child was reportedly strangled and pushed against a fence in a disturbing assault in Bristol. Avon and Somerset Police have issued an urgent CCTV appeal as the force is seeking a man they wish to speak to regarding the incident.

The incident occurred just before 7:45 pm on Friday, March 22, on Soundwell Road. According to reports received by the police, a child believed to be about 10 years old was assaulted by a man estimated to be in his late 30s or early 40s.

The man was described as having receding black hair and black clothing. The force has released a CCTV image of a man officers want to speak to about the assault.

In their appeal, Avon and Somerset Police stated: "We're appealing for the public's help to identify this man who we want to speak to in connection with the assault of a child in the Soundwell area of Bristol in March. Shortly before 7.45pm on Friday 22 March, we received a report that a child, approximately 10 years old, was being strangled and pushed up against a fence in Soundwell Road."

"The offender was described as a man, aged in his late 30s or early 40s, with receding black hair and black clothing.", as reports Bristol Live.
