Children in Need 2016: Graham Norton joins all-star presenting line-up

Graham Norton will be leading Children in Need’s star-studded presenting line-up this year – and he’s keen to honour the late Sir Terry Wogan.

Strictly Come Dancing presenter Tess Daly, Radio 1 DJ Greg James, Paralympic gold medalist Ade Adepitan, Capital’s Marvin Humes and The Saturdays’ Rochelle Humes, will also join the Irish host.

“It is a huge privilege to join the presenting team for the Children in Need Appeal show,” Graham said. “This year we’d love to raise as much money as we possibly can in honour of the late Sir Terry Wogan.”

Terry passed away in January this year, after a short but brave battle with cancer; he had become the face of Children in Need during his long-running career, presenting the high-profile telethon for over three decades.

Reflecting on her time working alongside the loveable broadcaster, Rochelle added: “I will never forget the amazing experience of presenting Children in Need with Sir Terry Wogan. Children in Need is truly one of the highlights of my year and I can’t wait for this year’s show.”

Tess, who previously presented the show alongside Sir Terry, said it was an “honour and pleasure” to work on Children in Need again and “make a real difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people right here in the UK.”

Meanwhile, Director of BBC content Charlotte Moore said: “I know the nation will dig deep and do the late Sir Terry Wogan proud with their generous fundraising.”

Children in Need currently supports 2,400 projects across the UK that help children facing a range of disadvantages including poverty and deprivation; victims of abuse, or neglect, or disabled young children.

The Children in Need 2016 appeal will air on BBC One on November 18.
