When is Children in Need 2023 on TV?

Children in Need returns to the BBC on Friday, 17 November (BBC)

Children in Need is back for another year at the BBC, once again helping to raise funds for children and young people facing difficulties.

The 2023 edition of the event will be screened live from MediaCityUK in Salford, Manchester, with a variety of specials airing during the course of the evening.

Money raised during the event will go towards helping children and young people living in poverty, will help provide assistance to families in crisis, and will help children struggling with injustice, or who are feeling sad, lost and alone.

When is Children in Need 2023 on TV?

Bargain Hunt will have a special airing earlier in the day to the live event in Manchester (BBC)

Children in Need will air on BBC One from 7pm to 10pm, with the live entertainment extravaganza featuring specials and one-off performances to help raise funds.

One special airing earlier in the day is the Bargain Hunt Children in Need special, which will air at 12.15pm until 1pm. Antiques Road Trip will also be airing a special version of the show in honour of Children in Need during its usual timeslot of 3.45pm.

The live Children in Need special will be hosted by an array of famous faces over the course of the night, with ex-professional footballer Alex Scott taking the role alongside comedians Mel Giedroyc, Jason Manford, and Chris Ramsey.

TV presenter Ade Adepitan MBE will also be on hand to present the programme, as well as Am I Being Unreasonable? actor Lenny Rush.

Doctor Who will air a Children In Need special starring David Tennant (BBC)

Doctor Who will be featured on Children in Need this year, with David Tennant reprising his role as The Doctor in an exclusive scene that will be shown during the broadcast.

Ahead of the release of the 60th anniversary specials starring Tennant and Catherine Tate, viewers will be able to see the actor portray the Fourteenth Doctor as he encounters a mysterious character played by comedian Mawaan Rizwan.

The special will see The Doctor uncover an age-old mystery that involves one of his oldest foes, and Children in Need will also air an extended behind-the-scenes look at the making of the 60th anniversary episodes ahead of their premiere on 25 November.

Other specials include a Children in Need edition of The Graham Norton Show (BBC)

Other specials airing over the course of the evening include DIY: SOS, The Graham Norton Show, MasterChef and a parody of BBC's reality series Race Across The World.

As well as the specials, live performances will take place during the event from Jerub, the UK’s Junior Eurovision act STAND UNIQU3, the BBC Children in Need choir, and Leigh-Anne Pinnock who will be singing her track My Love for the first time on TV.
