Chloe Madeley has candidly discussed the challenges of co-parenting with her ex-husband James Haskell. The daughter of Richard and Judy gave birth to daughter Bodhi in August 2022.

A year later, Chloe and James announced they had split. Chloe, 36, detailed how they were dealing with co-parenting since their relationship ended in a Q&A session on social media.

In her post, she wrote: "I sometimes get heat when I post about James and I coparenting from people saying it's not possible for everyone and I just want to be VERY clear that A) I know not everyone is in a position to be able to co parent without colossal amounts of stress, if at all."

She continued: "B) for me personally, it is the result of MANY heartbreaking conversations in the early days, and often very strained conversations in the current days. And to those who say "It's only easy now because there's nobody else in the picture yet.

"You're rude and unsurprisingly, you don't really know what you're talking about. Please stop spreading your negativity and fear."

Chloe and James jointly announced their split in September 2023, stating: "James and I mutually decided separate at the end of September, 2023. We had not planned on releasing a statement at this time - certainly not while the television show was airing - but constant speculation about our marriage has, unfortunately, forced our hand.

"Beyond this statement, we will not be speaking about this matter publicly, and we would request privacy at this time. Our sole focus now is our beautiful daughter."

The surprising separation occurred shortly after Chloe and her family launched their new ITV reality series, called A Family Affair.

Why did Chloe and James split?

Chloe explained on Loose Women the reason for their split, including James being away DJing so much, leaving her alone with their one-year-old daughter. She said: "One of the things that was quite hard over the summer was how often he is away DJing, like five nights a week.

"But actually how ironic that now it just completely works in my favour because I've got my space, he's got his space he'll come back a few nights a week and see Bodhi. He'll be hands-on dad and I'll sleep and then two days later off he goes - perfect."

She added: "You have pillars and posts that keep the relationship up, whether that's respect or affection or trust, and all of our pillars - over time, it didn't just happen - they kind of disintegrated. I think when that happens, there is no rebuilding."
