Chris Eubank was "knocked off his feet" by his own cooking skills on 'Masterchef.'

The 55-year-old ex-boxer has signed up alongside 20 other famous faces to appear on a celebrity edition of the BBC culinary series and spoke of how his "simple" dish was so well-received by judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace.

He said: "You will see on the show where I cook one simple dish, it knocked even me off my feet. The proof is in the eating and I can remember Gregg saying, ‘I can’t work you out, but this is really good. This was very simple food that I’m told most people don’t like, until obviously they taste mine."

The sports legend - who has four children from his first marriage to Karron Eubank and was married to Claire Geary from 2014 until 2017 and has since married for a third time but kept his wife's identity a secret from the public - is joining the likes of 'Strictly Come Dancing' professional Katya Jones, 33, and 'Birds of a Feather' star Lesley Joseph, 76, on the show and joked that any woman would "die" to be in his kitchen.

He told the Radio Times: "It’s almost as though I had to teach them what the relationship is between the chef and the food. They just didn’t have any idea how to love the food and the process. The difference with my food is the love that’s in it. When I cook, if my wife is there or not, it’s like I’m on a date. I dim the lights, I put on Nat King Cole. When I cook, if my wife is there or not, it’s like I’m on a date. I dim the lights, I put on Nat King Cole. I am floating in there. Let me tell you, any woman would die to be in that kitchen.”

'Celebrity MasterChef' is set to begin on BBC One on August 10 at 8pm.
