Chris Hemsworth is ready to roll out for the “Transformers” and “G.I. Joe” crossover movie

The Australian actor is collecting franchises like Infinity Stones.

After Marvel and Mad Max, Chris Hemsworth has found his next franchise — which is really two franchises crammed into one.

The Australian actor behind Thor and Dementus is in talks to star in Paramount's still-untitled Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover movie, Entertainment Weekly has learned.

Hemsworth is technically already a part of Transformers, since he voices a young Optimus Prime in the animated film Transformers One, set to hit theaters in September. However, veteran Optimus actor Peter Cullen voiced the character in 2023's Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, which first teased the crossover event. Details on Hemsworth's part in the live-action film are still unclear.

Directed by Steven Caple Jr., Transformers: Rise of the Beasts saw the Autobots tangoing with the Maximals to stop the world-devouring Unicron (Colman Domingo) from destroying Earth in the 1990s. Anthony Ramos starred as the tech-savvy ex-soldier Noah Diaz, opposite Dominique Fishback as museum intern Elena Wallace.

The ending of Beasts set up the arrival of the Joes; House of Cards and The Penguin actor Michael Kelly appeared as Agent Burke, trying to recruit Noah to the team. "We're introducing Joe characters into the world that we're dealing with, on whatever our characters are gonna go do," franchise producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura previously told EW. "We're also not through with the Maximals, so I imagine in the next movie we'll have Maximals, Autobots, and Joes."

At CinemaCon in April, Paramount officially announced that a Transformers-G.I. Joe movie was in the works with Di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto, and Don Murphy as producers, and Steven Spielberg as an executive producer.

"Two of the biggest action franchises come together for a new Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover film," read the cryptic description for the project.

Caple is presumed to also return as the director of the movie, but he has yet to be officially announced. He told EW last year that the new movie he was developing would "expand the entire universe."

"There's a big mission at hand," he said of the next sequel. "I think it's really cool that there are other planets out there with Transformers. It's one of the reasons why I introduced the Maximals that way in the beginning of our film. I was pulling from these Japanese cartoons where there's Transformers on every other planet. I just feel like we've been on Earth for a very long time. So there might be something interesting to explore there, maybe taking this war and battle somewhere else."
