Chris Pratt Jokes He Doesn't Know How to Spell 2-Year-Old Daughter Eloise's Name: 'There's No Y?'

The actor shares his two daughters with wife Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt and his son with ex Anna Faris

Being a girl dad can be hard work — especially when it requires you to spell difficult names.

On Thursday, May 23, Chris Pratt, 44, appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and spoke about his two daughters Eloise Christina, 2, and Lyla Maria, 3, whom he shares with wife Katherine Schwarzenegger Pratt, 34. The star is also dad to son Jack, 11, from a previous relationship.

"Yeah Eloise just turned 2. And you know, you have girls. It’s hard, man. And having children is hard. And my daughter likes to play this game with me called ‘No!’” the Garfield actor shares.

“And it’s…I’m not very good at the game, and she always wins because she says no. And I did not know you were allowed to say that to your parents," the dad of three continues. "Like, I grew up never being able to say no to my parent."

Jimmy Fallon, 49, then asks Pratt about a drawing his older daughter Lyla made, showing the audience that the toddler had spelled out her sister's name.

"Yeah, I sent you this picture. This is my 3½-year-old who wrote her sister’s name, who’s 2. Eloise," Pratt explains. "Lyla wrote this and Katherine sent this to me just yesterday."

“Eloise is a tricky…a beautiful name," Fallon says.

“Eloise…I did not know how to spell it until I saw this photo," Pratt jokes.

Fallon laughs and clarifies if he's talking about his own daughter's name.

“Yeah, I did not…I was like, ‘There’s no Y?’ It made no sense," Pratt jokingly continues. "No. But yeah, look at this. She spelled that and she’s only 3½-years-old."

“That’s not too shabby right there," Fallon says.

Earlier this week, Pratt and his wife celebrated their daughter Eloise as she turned 2 years old. Posting a photo on her Instagram, Schwarzenegger Pratt captured her daughter in her pajamas, posing in front of a "2" balloon.

"Our baby girl is 2! The smiliest, silliest, strongest willed, love girl ! I love you to the moon and back and more and more! Happy BIRTHday!" Schwarzenegger Pratt wrote in her caption.

Pratt reshared the photo on his own Instagram, writing, "Happy birthday baby girl, mommy and daddy love you more than words. ❤️."

This past weekend, the Guardians of the Galaxy alum attended the premiere of his film The Garfield Movie in Hollywood, Calif., and spoke with PEOPLE on the red carpet about whether his kids had seen the new flick.

Asked if he would show The Garfield Movie to his kids, Pratt said, "Yeah, 100%. Especially a movie like Garfield, it's truly safe for all ages, and my daughters are both very young."

"My son's 11, so he's seen a lot of the things that I'm in, but my girls have never seen anything I've been in, so this will probably be the first thing that they see."
