Chris Pratt's Terminal List show adds Westworld star

Chris Pratt's Prime Video series The Terminal List: Dark Wolf has cast Westworld star Luke Hemsworth.

Taking place five years before The Terminal List, this prequel chronicles Ben Edwards' (reprised by Taylor Kitsch) journey from Navy SEAL to CIA paramilitary man, exploring "the darker side of warfare and the human cost that comes with it".

Deadline reports Hemsworth is onboard as Jules Landry, a "self-obsessed CIA contractor" hiding a dangerous volatility.

Jurassic World actor Pratt will be back on screen as lieutenant commander James Reece, while The Umbrella Academy's Tom Hopper recently joined Dark Wolf too.

Promoting the original action thriller in an interview with Digital Spy, Pratt told us all about playing such a hardcore character.

"One of the touchstone themes of the piece, both from the Jack Carr novel, all the way to the whole show, is authenticity. And so for both of us – we've each had an opportunity to play a Navy SEAL before, in Lone Survivor for Taylor, and Zero Dark Thirty for myself. We really honed in on trying to create authentic movements, and the body language of a special operator," he began.

"We relied heavily on training with our tech advisor, Ray Mendoza, who's a former Navy SEAL, as well as a handful of other Navy SEALs that we had on the cast and the crew, really walking us through the handling of the various weapon systems, and integrating from one gun to the next, and how we carry ourselves in the room, and how we walk around a corner and all of the tradecraft from situational awareness that's constantly going on in the minds of these men who are so highly trained."

Pratt continued: "That training in itself was probably the most specific training, beyond just being sure you can do push-ups and pull-ups and run and be physically fit and all that kind of stuff that you can do however you want to do. There's a specificity to the movements of them in battle that we really wanted to try to maintain so we could hit that level of authenticity that we're after."

The Terminal List is available to stream on Prime Video, with spin-off Dark Wolf on its way.
