Christine Lampard reacts to baby news on ITV's Lorraine Kelly show

Christine Lampard beamed with joy on ITV's Lorraine as she discussed the delightful baby announcement.

While presenting the popular morning programme on Monday, Christine was accompanied by Dr Hilary Jones when they delivered some heartwarming news. Clearly elated, Christine couldn't hide her excitement over the revelation.

The duo announced that TV favourite Lorraine Kelly is set to become a grandmother for the first time, as her daughter Rosie Smith is pregnant with her first child.

On air, Christine conveyed Lorraine's emotions, saying: "She will be beside herself with excitement."

She went on to offer her congratulations to Rosie on her pregnancy. Further expressing how thrilled Lorraine must be, Christine added: "She will be on cloud nine.", reports the Mirror.

Rosie, aged 29, took to social media last week to share her joyous news, posting a charming photo of her growing baby bump as she held it lovingly during a mirror selfie. Accompanying the image, Rosie wrote: "We could not be more excited you're already so loved little one."

She also shared an image of her 12-week ultrasound scan, playfully noting that her baby was now 'the size of a fig'.

Lorraine herself couldn't resist expressing her joy in the comments section, where she celebrated the fantastic family development. An ecstatic Lorraine commented: "THE most exciting thing to have ever happened in our family! Cannot wait to be a granny and so proud of Rosie and her Steve. It's the best news EVER."

TV favourite Lorraine Kelly has been sharing heartwarming insights into her family life, particularly the special bond she shares with her daughter Rosie. Married to cameraman Steve Smith since 1992, Lorraine knew he was "the one" from the first moment they met.

The couple's joy was doubled when they welcomed Rosie in 1994, although further plans for expanding their family didn't come to fruition.

Lorraine is full of praise for her "amazing girl" Rosie, who recently took a significant step by buying her first property. In 2022, Rosie secured a two-bedroom flat in the trendy area of Islington, London, for £865,000 and has been busy turning it into her dream home.

Despite Rosie flying the nest, Lorraine has kept a room for her at home, highlighting their tight-knit relationship. "We talk about everything under the sun," Lorraine revealed to Weekend Magazine.

She insists that while she's a mother first, she hopes Rosie feels she can share anything with her, even though she acknowledges that Rosie has her own circle of friends.

The mother-daughter duo delighted fans with their appearance on Celebrity Gogglebox, where they were joined by their family dog Ruby. Rosie, an Edinburgh Napier University journalism graduate, has been back in the UK after spending four years in Singapore, which has only brought her and Lorraine closer together.
